More results from the Weekend

Other games in the FBD League took place at the weekend, elsewhere from Galways 16 point win, Sligo lost to NUIG on a scoreline of 3-09 to 0-13. That books NUIG’s place in the FBD League final where they will more than likely play Mayo who beat Roscommon on a final scoreline of 1-12 to 0-08 leaving 7 points to spare. The other game of the FBD League this weekend, Leitrim V GMIT was postponed, weather that game makes much difference at this stage, is hard to see. That game now takes place tonight.

Good to see NUIG under Mayoman John Maughan making strides in the FBD as they are undoubtably build towards the Sigerson Cup later in the year, not many Galway men on show for them, mind.

Elsewhere in the GAA world this weekend, Mickey Harte made an emotional return to management against Donegal in front of an 1,000 strong crowd, Tyrone in the end, ran out winners by a single score 1-13 to 0-13.

Rhode of Offalys fairy tale season came to an abrupt end after losing out to Kilmacud Crokes in the Leinster senior club final, Kilmacud would be seen as favourites from the club All Ireland but will have  stiff competition against the likes of Crossmaglen Rangers of Armagh, and St. Bridgets of Roscommon who overcame our very own Killererin of Galway.
